Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
1. Overview
GPX files can contain sensitive location data, including home addresses, training routines, race locations, timestamps, and travel patterns. GPX Tools is designed around local browser processing so users can repair and inspect GPS files without uploading them to this website.
2. GPX file processing
When you select or drop a GPX file into the app, JavaScript running in your browser reads and processes the file locally. The file is not uploaded to a GPX Tools server, stored in a database, or attached to an account. Output files are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device.
3. Server and AI processing
The public website does not require account login and does not use AI processing to interpret uploaded GPX files. If future features introduce optional server-side processing, AI assistance, accounts, or cloud storage, those features will be clearly labeled before use and this Privacy Policy will be updated.
4. Information we may receive
Basic technical information may be processed by hosting, DNS, security, or browser infrastructure when you load the website, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamps. This is separate from GPX file contents, which are processed locally by the app.
5. Cookies and advertising
GPX Tools may use Google AdSense after approval. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Users can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
6. Third-party services
- Google AdSense: May serve ads and use cookies or similar technologies once advertising is enabled.
- Hosting, DNS, and security providers: May process standard request logs and security signals needed to deliver the website.
- Linked services: External links, such as Google Ads Settings or fitness platforms mentioned in guides, are governed by their own privacy policies.
7. Analytics and tracking
The current app does not require account tracking to process files. If analytics are added later, they should be configured conservatively and disclosed here before use.
8. Your choices
You can use the tools without creating an account. You can block cookies in your browser, use private browsing, decline to send files by email, and remove sensitive coordinates before sharing GPX examples for support.
